The conference - October 21-23, 2004.

The 18th conference EnviroInfo 2004 of the German Informatics Society (GI) will be held in Geneva, Switzerland. It continues the successful series of conferences dedicated to information exchange among scientists, public administrations, private and public companies involved in environmental information processing as well as environmental informatics end-users.

The forthcoming conference will cover the wide scope of environmental information systems topics. It will show the state-of-the-art in research,development and application.

The 2004 conference will focus on "sharing":

Sharing information technologies, in order to comply with the principles of
sustainable development,such as:

- North-South technology transfer
- Open software development for environmental protection
- Open geographic information systems
- Environmental information sharing networks
- Experience sharing networks
- Etc.

Sharing data and knowledge:

- Between citizens and public administrations, through e-government projects
- Between scientists and technology experts, through knowledge transfer
- Between administrations, through information systems coordination
- Etc.

EnviroInfo 2004 is open to scientists, managers and decision makers from various disciplines, experts from IT industry, governmental institutions, international and intergovernmental organisations,environmental agencies and networks, specialists of theoretical and applied informatics, managers and experts from environmental technology companies, consultants, students and the concerned public.

 

The contributions.

Speakers will be invited to introduce keynote sessions. They will give state-of-the-art and overviews on the main conference topics.

Contributions will take the form of:
